It can pull nails from tires, be a wrench, and even a phone holder
Space is limited on a motorcycle, but it’s still a good idea to carry some tools in case of a mishap on or off the road. I carry a generic Leatherman in my top trunk, which combines many tools into a single compact unit. The TiSpanner 2.0 is another multitool that incorporates some very different and useful functions than the typical Leatherman.
At first glance, the TiSpanner 2.0 looks like a measuring caliper, a tool that is admittedly of little use out there on the trail. This is one of its numerous functions, with markings on the handle to indicate metric and Imperial measurements. While the press photos display only the markings with no numbers, manufacturer Titaner has since added them in response to this criticism in a NewAtlas article.

Let’s focus instead on the features most useful to motorcycle riders. This is no ordinary caliper. It is strong enough to be used as a wrench as well. I have never seen a wrench that opens as wide as 36 mm in such a small package before. This, and perhaps a short “cheater pipe” to extend the handle, could work well for large axle bolts despite its tiny size, just 57 mm long and 20 mm wide when closed. Small magnets in the body keep it closed and prevent it from unscrewing as it bounces around the way my vice grips always do. As the TiSpanner name implies, it is made of titanium for extra strength while weighing only 18 grams. A version with a stainless steel body weighing 24.9 grams is also available at a lower cost, but its guts remain titanium so as not to compromise on strength.

After a recent flat tire, the tool’s nail puller caught my eye. While intended to pull them out of wood, I’ll bet the TiSpanner 2.0 would be great for pulling nails out of tires. You may still need other tools to dig it out enough to get a grip on the head, but a nail puller smaller than a hammer would work much better than a pair of pliers, something I had to add to my new patch kit that didn’t include it.

It can be nice to kick back at camp, watch videos, or read the latest articles on ADVrider. The TiSpanner 2.0 can help with this, too, serving as a phone holder. This use is a bit of a stretch, but there’s no denying that it works. Just be careful not to tighten it down too hard and crack your screen.

One use that certainly does have its place is as a bottle opener. Those who like to imbibe after the ride don’t need to carry a separate tool for this. It can also help open jars, which can be useful if you’re trying to make dinner at camp but just can’t pop the vacuum seal by hand.
Other useful features include a tough tungsten head that can open everything from cardboard boxes to car windows, a nail file that can also sharpen knives, and a D-ring and carabiner, making it easy to clip onto just about anything. This last feature is thanks to meeting goals in a highly successful Kickstarter campaign. It appears that production is currently underway as they produce all the tools they’ve already sold; once they’re gone, we can likely expect another production run at a standard, non-gimmicky Kickstarter price. _________________ 人族當有超越一切的東西 若有悖 法律改 民族讓 國家低頭
